Lost, 2005, galvanized steel, mirror polished stainless steel, 8‘ x 40‘ x 40’, (aerial view), Franconia Sculpture Park, Shafer, MN
An interactive sculpture where the viewer moves through a labyrinth of chain link fence passageways to discover, at the center of the labyrinth, a concave mirror polished stainless steel plate embedded four feet below ground level.
The mirrored plate reflects the sun, sky with cloud patterns, the fence and the viewer -- becoming completely visible to the viewer/participant only upon their arrival at the center of the sculpture. The footpath worn through the labyrinth was created by visitors getting lost in the sculpture.
